The MetLife Survey of the American Teacher: Collaborating for Student Success examines the views of teachers, principals and students about respective roles and responsibilities, current practice and priorities for the future, addressing the issues of effective teaching and leadership, student achievement and teaching as a career (2009).

At a forum last week, the National Commission on Teaching and America’s Future stressed that teachers who collaborate in learning teams hold themselves to a higher standard, improve their practice, and lift student achievement.
