Teachers are the key to international development and the transformation of a students life. Teachers Without Borders-Florida Meetup Group has been created to gather devoted and committed academic educators and advocates of education in supporting our colleagues and their students in our local community and developing regions around the world. According to the United Nations, 121 million of the worlds children are without education. In fact, under serve communities locally and globally suffer greatly due to the lack educational opportunities and relationships. Teachers change students lives every single day, as volunteers of "Teachers Without Borders-Florida" we can help bridge the gap locally and globally and remove the obstacles which hinder productive, educational and lifelong relationships among citizens of the world. Please join us in our efforts to make a difference, to inspire and to provide an open hand and heart to a young person that longs to learn how to read, write and express themselves to the world. Our mission is to end the injustices that cause hunger, poverty and environmental degradation throughout the world. We believe a world free of hunger is possible if farmers and communities take back control of the food systems presently dominated by transnational agri-foods industries. We carry out research, analysis, advocacy and education for informed citizen engagement with the institutions and policies that control production, distribution and access to food. Our work both informs and amplifies the voices of social movements fighting for food sovereignty: people’s right to healthy and culturally appropriate food produced through ecologically sound and sustainable methods, and their right to define their own food and agriculture systems—at home and abroad.

This is a place for language teachers to come together and discuss teaching methods that enhance their student outcomes. General linguistic discussion is welcome and appreciated.
