This is a group for teachers that are interested in or participants of Teachers Without Borders (TWB) work in South Africa. TWB South Africa has lead many teaching training programs in South Africa that focus on training teachers on math and science teaching methodology. In the last seven years more than 2,000 South Afrian teachers in rural areas have been trained by the teams Yunus Peer leads in South Africa.

By utilizing an innovative education program and hands-on projects, The Human Potential (THP) strives to enable at-risk youth to engage higher education, have better employment opportunities, and achieve self-empowerment through environmentalism and entrepreneurship. By bringing together communities and various organizations, THP aims to foster environmentalism, entrepreneurship, and a community spirit.

The Miss G Project for Equity in Education is a grassroots young feminist organization working to combat all forms of oppression in and through education, including sexism, homophobia, racism and classism. Dedicated to feminist anti-oppression politics with a strong focus on education, our mandate is to provide young people, particularly young women, with the opportunity, support, and resources necessary to analyze and influence issues that affect their lives and futures. This includes acting as a community resource and mounting political actions towards the ongoing improvement of publicly funded education to meet its own policy commitments to equity in education, respect for diversity, critical thinking, and the provision of a safe and secure environment. Our current objective is to get a Women's & Gender Studies Course into the Ontario Secondary School Curriculum.

منذ فترة كنت أفكر في هذا الموضوع (التعليم الممتع) وكنت في نفسي أتساءل لماذا هذا التعليم غائب عن مدارسنا .....وهل هو غائب أو مغيب ؟ لماذا يسود الملل فصولنا ؟ لماذا تحيط الكآبة بالمعلم والمعلمة ؟ وهل التعليم الممتع علم أم فن ؟ وهل كل معلم يستطيعه ؟ وكيف يستطيع المعلم امتلاك مهارة التعليم الممتع ؟ وهل يتناسب التعليم الممتع مع جميع المواد ؟ وهل يعني التعليم القائم على المتعة التهريج ؟ وهل يمكن رفع مستوى الطلاب عن طريق التعليم الماتع ؟ وهل توجد مراجع تتكلم عن هذا الموضوع وتناقشه ؟ والكثير الكثير من الأسئلة التي تتقافز أمام ناظري . عندها قررت جمع مادة تناقش هذا الموضوع وتكشف أبعاده المختلفة فبحثت في الكتب المتخصصة فما وجدتها تعطي هذا الموضوع اهتماما وإنما تذكر أن من صفات المعلم الناجح أن يكون طيب المعشر حنونا على طلابه....... بحثت في الانترنت فوجدت أن لفظ الممتع يأتي على سبيل الوصف للشيء الجميل من غير تفصيل أو إشباع لهذا المفهوم . ومع مزيد البحث وقفت على مايمكن أن يسهم في بيان هذاالمفهوم مع ما أضافته خبرة الزيارات الميدانية لزملائي المعلمين. لكن قبل ذلك أرغب في طرح هذا النوع من التعليم للمناقشة والحوار بين أعضاء الموقع بمعنى ماملامح التعليم الممتع لدى كل واحد منا ؟ أو ماذا يعني التعليم الممتع ؟ وفي نهاية الموضوع سأقدم رؤيتي الخاصة لنقدها من قبل أعضاء الموقع ؟ كما قلت سابقا هذا الموضوع غير مسبوق -على حد علمي- فقد مررت بالكثير والكثير من المكتبات بحثا عما يفيد في هذاالموضوع فما وجدت أحدا تكلم فيه بمؤلف مستقل .. لذاأتصور أن طرح كل واحد منا رأيه وتقديم خبرته سيقرب هذا المفهوم كثيرا لنخرج في نهاية الموضوع بأنموذج وماهية جيدة للتعليم الممتع. لقد طرحت هذا السؤال على أشقائي في اجتماعنا شبه اليومي لمناقشته فوجدت منهم حماسا منقطع النظير حيث قام كل واحد منهم بتقديم رؤيته للتعليم الممتع....العجيب أن هناك اتفاقا منهم على أن المتصف بتعليمه الممتع من معلميهم نادر بل نادر جدا.....بل كانوا يتساءلون عن سبب ذلك. لقد أكد أكثر من واحد منهم على أن التعليم السائد مميت وقاتل لكل ما يمكن أن يكون جميلا في نفوس الطلاب.....العجيب أن كل واحد قد عرف التعليم الممتع عن طريق تناول جانب من جوانب التعليم أو كفاية من كفاياته....فمثلا أحدهم يقول عن التعليم الممتع هو التعليم الذي يقوده المعلم المتمكن....وآخر يقول هو التعليم الذي يسود الفصل فيه الأمن والارتياح....وآخر يراه التعليم الذي تتوافر فيه مايشعر الإنسان بالكرامة والتقدير ووووو. ولقناعتي بما يملكه رواد هذا الموقع الرائد من قدرات وخبرات طرحت هذا الموضوع....والذي أتمنى فيه من أحبتي المشاركين الصبر على هذا الموضوع والسعي في تناول أطرافه المختلفة وجوانبه المتعددة فليس الأمر كتابة بعض الأسطر عن هذا الموضوع وكفى ....لا لا الأمر أكثر عمقا من ذلك..... بمعنى أرجو الا يتصور أحد أن الموضوع مكتمل وواضح وأن المطلوب سرعة طرحه ليستفيد الآخرون....لا لا لا .....أنا لدي تصور معين للتعليم الممتع سأطرحه في برامجي التدريبية وفي الوقت نفسه سأطرحه أمامكم في هذا الموقع لمعرفة مدى صوابه من خطئه. أخشى أن تكون المقدمة أطول من الموضوع نفسه ولذاسأبدأ بذكر الصفة الأولى للتعليم الممتع 1- أن يكون المعلم نفسه مستمتعا بعمله. لا أتصور معلما يمكن أن يتصف عمله بالمتعة وهو في خلو منها ...ضيق الصدر بمهنته , تعلوه الكآبة والضجر , فمن تخلو نفسه من المتعة لايمكن أن يقدمها لغيره ..المشكلة أن ضيق المعلم بنفسه ينتقل بالعدوى لطلابه وهذا مشاهد ملحوظ...فالمعلم المرح والطريف المبتهج تستطيع أن تقرأ صفحات البهجة في وجوه طلابه...والمعلم العابس الكئيب تنطق نظرات طلابه بالبؤس والتمعر...وكم شاهدت من معلم كأنما سيق للتعليم رغم أنفه أو كأنما عوقب لجرم اقترفه بأن يكون معلما . لقد صدق ذلك المثل الصيني القائل ( أن سعادة المرء أن يكون عمله هوايته ) والمراد أن عدم استمتاع المعلم بعمله كاف وكاف جدا لرحيل المتعة من المكان الذي يحط فيه....مجرد سؤال لكل معلم ومعلمة.... هل تستمتع بعملك ؟ إذا كان الجواب بنعم فقد توفر لديك جانب من جوانب التعليم الممتع ...أما إذا كان الجواب بلا فتأكد أن من تقوم بتدريسهم هم أشد بؤسا منك ..وأن قدرهم أن يمضوا شيئا من أعمارهم بين يديك...وأنهم يعللون النفس بقرب الفرج....لست أبالغ لو قلت أن دراسة الطالب لدى معلم كريه ...كريه النفس كريه العقل كريه المشاعر كريه التواصل من الموت البطيءالذي يقتل كل ماهو جميل في النفس ..وقد أكون مبالغا لو قلت أن الصبر عن الطعام والشراب أسهل على النفس من الصبر على هذا المعلم . للحديث بقية فالكلام حول التعليم الممتع يفتح الشهية

Teachers Without Borders – (South Africa) has conducted 30+ workshops in three provinces with more than 1500 South African math and science teachers. By conservative estimates, a half million students are benefiting from their teacher's upgraded skills. This international grass-roots effort has also provided the opportunity both for professional development and public service to more than 35 U.S. teachers - a life-changing experience, and ultimately one which benefits students in U.S classrooms. The focus of the program is to improve the learning and teaching of mathematics and science at the secondary school level. TWB On Campus is a framework, network, and support system for college students to make a difference for teachers in their communities. TWBOC members discuss issues related to international education, bring forth these issues to their local community and volunteer their time to support local education initiatives.

TWB on Campus, Auchi Polytechnic, is a forum for a group of people with like minds meet to share ideas and partner to expend the goals and purpose of TWB international.

As part of TWB in Nigeria mission to empower, connect and celebrate teachers, and in recognition of the need to build the capacity of teachers, especially National Youth Service Corps members, we are embarking on a nationwide teaching tour presenting the TWB Teaching Mastery program to teachers. We shall mobilize them to sign up. This group is for the CTM Teaching Tour 2008
